New Year 2022 – Year Of Glass
It’s a new year which means it’s a New Year and expectations are for me slightly scary.

Who am I?
I ask because I remember arriving to live in Caithness by virtue of my successful application to manage the Dounreay glassblowing Department. That was in 1981 and I was greeted as a kind of saviour
Book Bargain
I have visited hundreds of charity shops and am always attracted to collections of books. I judge how good a shop is by the range of subjects covered on the bookshelves.
Passage at the Byre
I have visited many art exhibitions over the year, mostly devoted to glass and never have bothered to think about the respective venues at all.
Glassblowers in a museum, glass ships in bottles!
To be able to conduct a glassblowing demonstration on my birthday was indeed a joy to behold.
